Positions

Rural: Shifts are 24 hours on a 2/2/3 schedule or 4/4

Urban: Shifts are 24/48 or 12 hours on 2/2/3

Dispatcher: Shifts are 12 hours (AM/PM) on a 2/2/3 schedule.

Part Time- Medevac Alabama only hires Part Time (PRN) EMT's and Paramedics, PRN positions are always open. We do not hire Part time Dispatchers or EMS operators except under special circumstances (Direct Outside Experience)

Dispatcher: The Dispatcher is responsible coordinating our multi-state Air and Ground patient transports. The incumbent will be the main line of communication between the caller, ground and air crew, hospitals, agencies, nurses, social workers, other EMS personnel, fire departments and administrators.

EMT: The EMT assures provision of care to an assigned patient population or work site in a professional manner, utilizing the standard of care and the principles of continuous Quality Improvement in collaboration with other team members. EMT's are responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport via ground-based EMS unit from and to medical care facilities as well as from 911 scenes. This includes provision of life support measures required to stabilize critically ill or injured patients. EMT's must have the ability to establish positive interpersonal and professional relationships.

Paramedic: The Paramedic assures provision of care to an assigned patient population or work site in a professional manner, utilizing the standard of care and the principles of continuous Quality Improvement in collaboration with other team members.  Paramedics are responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport via fixed wing aircraft or ground-based EMS unit from and to medical care facilities. This includes provision of life support measures required to stabilize critically ill or injured patients. Paramedics must have the ability to establish positive interpersonal and professional relationships.
